The Infinity Dreams Award

I have no excuses for my absence this time. I could say high school stress, homework and not being able to read enough, but let’s face it—it’s actually procrastination that gets the best of me each time.

I’ve been putting off blogging and reading (the things I love to do) but it’s time to get back on track. I’m going to finish Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas after this post. Let’s do this.

A massive thanks to Cherry @Read Forevermore and Jenna @Lost Within Words for tagging me to do this award. They both have amazing blogs that are definitely worth following 🙂

Rules

  1. Thank and follow the blog that nominated you
  2. Tell us 11 facts about yourself
  3. Answer the blogger’s questions
  4. Nominate 11 other bloggers and set some questions

11 Facts About Moi

  1. I am extremely competitive. It is mostly competition against myself and trying to beat my own expectations and striving for the best, but I have been known to get a little carried off in sports and tend to focus more on the winning aspect.
  2. I am learning German online at the moment and loving it. Although the der, die, das and den can be rather confusing.
  3. My favourite colour is blue like the colour of the sky on a summer morning.
  4. I am a Gemini.
  5. I am pretty short in height—about 5’3.
  6. My favourite movie ever is Jurassic Park and I’ve watched it about ten times.
  7. I love horror movies but can never find any that I love.
  8. I’m a bit of a nerd in that I like studying (not homework though, just learning new things) and get good grades, but I don’t really study for it.
  9. My dream university is McGill, one of the best medical schools in the world.
  10. I love all the seasons and can’t choose one. Spring is not my favourite but I love summer and fall a lot!
  11. I find it hard to say “no” to people but I’m trying to change that this year.

Cherry’s Questions

1. Who is your number one fictional boyfriend and why?

How can my poor heart choose? There are so many sweet and lovable characters out there, but Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices will eternally be my soulmate. Also, in the past few days, I’ve grown to love Dorian from the Throne of Glass series.

2. What is your favorite opening line from a book?

Hmm, it’s been so long since I’ve read a particularly great opening line.

“The demon exploded in a shower of ichor and guts.”

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare.

Blue Sargent had forgotten how many times she’d been told that she would kill her true love.

Ooh now isn’t that interesting! I’ve only read The Raven Boys but I really hope Gansey is not killed.

3. If your life could have a soundtrack, what songs would be on it?

Ride by Twenty One Pilots, Drag Me Down by One Direction, Kid In Love by Shawn Mendes, Infinity by One Direction.

I really need to listen to more songs out of the same genres.

4. What are some of your other hobbies besides reading?

Listening to music, playing the flute, playing badminton and volleyball, Tumblr, worrying about IB (academic program) and watching movies.. Somehow I always forget what I do when this question comes up.

5. If you were your favorite book character, what would a typical day in your life look like?

Celaena Sardothien would probably slay anyone who crossed her. If I was her, I’d kick some royal ass and sneak into broom closets with Chaol all day. I would eat chocolate cake in my bed with truffles and all sorts of candies and curl up with a book.

On second thought, can I sneak into the closets with Dorian instead? This sounds a lot like me.

6. What do you love the most about blogging?

The bookish community! Everyone in the book blogging community is absolutely amazing and it’s what keeps most of us going! Also, it’s a good excuse to read all the time.

7. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Paris, London, Frankfurt, Brussels, Maldives, Rome, Lisbon, Tokyo. Anywhere and everywhere.

8. Favorite kind of ice cream? (:

All kinds. Ice cream is a blessing. Rocky road (I’m having it right now 🙂 ), chocolate, Oreo, mint and chocolate chip.

Jenna’s Questions

1. What is your all time favourite book?

The Infernal Devices trilogy. The Tiger’s Curse series. The Throne of Glass series.

2. How many languages can you speak?

Almost three. English and Hindi fluently and I am learning French. I have also started learning German.

3. Which Hogwarts house are you in?

I’m proud to be a Slytherin. Yesssss!

4. Top 3 bookish pet peeves ?

Mismatched covers and cover changes. Faces on book covers. Love triangles in which the character chooses the wrong person.

5. What is your favourite scent?

The smell of baked goods. Food.

6. Where do you buy most of your books?

At the library. Haha just kidding. I don’t normally buy books. There was a Chapters in walking distance from my house but they closed recently so probably online.

7. What is your favourite holiday?

Christmas! All of winter break. It didn’t snow much this year but I usually spend all my time outdoors. I love the onset of winter and the crispiness in the air left over from fall. Hot chocolate and marshmallows is all you need.

8. If you can switch lives with a fictional character, who would it be?

Celaena Sardothien. Yes, she has about a thousand enemies that threaten to murder her and she barely escapes getting killed. But she also does more in a single day than I have ever done in my life 😉 And oh boy does she slay. (haha see what I did there?)

My Questions

If you’ve made it this far into this long post, then these are my questions 🙂 I’m using a couple from above because they’re awesome!

1. Who is your biggest inspiration?
2. What is it about your favourite character that you love?
3. What is your favourite book and why?
4. If you were your favorite book character, what would a typical day in your life look like?
5. What would happen if you were to transport into the book you are currently reading?
6. Give a quote from a book that has influenced you or changed you as a person.
7. What is your favourite kind of dessert?
8. How much do you love books? (More than people, more than the internet?)

I tag all of you! You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to 🙂

My Purpose for Blogging

Will you believe if I said that I didn’t always have a love for books? I really actually started reading when I was around 12, and I think the books that first got me into the whole blogging world were the Tiger’s Curse series by Colleen Houck and The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare. Those were one of my first reviews, and I created a blog just for the fun of it—I didn’t know a whole bookish community existed!

Now, I blog because I want to share my feelings on books and how I like them and all about the feels! Blogging doesn’t really come naturally yet, but I hope to make a lot of friends (and I already have) because what is more fun than reading and sharing that love of books with your bookish friends? Around the whole world! So I guess my purpose for blogging is the awesome things that come with it—not the followers, ARCs, although those are a great bonus!—but the fun we have and the great community that we belong to is definitely worth it. And what’s the point of reading if you can’t talk about it?

And the nominees are…

Thank you everyone!

My Not-So-Interesting-And-Barely-There Story

I had no plans in mind to create a book blog. In fact, when I started, I thought blogs and websites were the same. (Don’t blame me, I was only 13). I wasn’t that much into reading either and I mostly only picked up Nancy Drew books from the library because I had no idea that there was a Young Adult section in the library! One day, I stumbled upon it when I was bored and found the Harry Potter books and others like The Hobbit. I can’t say I was interested from the very start, but it grew on me and now I need to read everyday because it’s just so much fun.

The blog was a bit of an accident—I wasn’t planning on it but I just wanted to experiment with it. And then I started posting some reviews on the books that I’d read (mind you, they were very bad and were basically a summary instead of my thoughts). Now, two years later, I’m doing much better because now I actually know what works best for me in terms of writing and reading. I think.

My Advice

I’m going to keep this very basic, but genuine. This goes for all bloggers, not just book bloggers.

  • I know most bloggers out there dream of making it big, being the one with thousands of followers, and hundreds of comments. I used to think that way too, and if I’m honest, I still do, sometimes. But you have to remember—views, comments, likes, followers, etc. are not as important. You should love what you do and what you blog about. If you’re passionate, these things will follow.
  • Make your blog unique. Don’t overload your blog with memes, tags, etc. These are great, but try to do some posts where you share your ideas with the world.
  • Connect with others. Come on, this is your chance! Make new friends. chat with others and help them out! They are starting out/started out from point zero too, and all of them are very nice. Comment on their posts, wish them a good day, etc. But don’t do it for the likes, follows—do it because you care for them and would like to help them 🙂

I’m going to nominate some new blogs that I’ve started following over the past couple of days because they are just so awesome! These lovely bloggers deserve to be recognized for their hard work ❤

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award | Part II

This is the second part of the Q&A for the award! Thanks everyone 🙂 I hope you enjoy this little post 😀

Raven’s Questions

1. Who is your favorite person in the world except your parents and why?

I have a feeling I can’t say Will Herondale again. So I’ll say all of my friends. And basically everybody else in my grade at school because they’re all awesome. And you, too! I love my readers more than words can convey 🙂

2.Your favorite holiday spot?

I’ve never been to Hawaii so I can’t judge, apparently. But Cancun, Mexico was just breathtaking. Don’t let the heat stop you! I bet it’s hotter in Western Canada now than it was in Mexico in March when I went. But I haven’t been to castles. So I’d like to go to one.

3.Besides reading what do you like to do most?

I love playing sports. Anything and everything. I play badminton, I’m learning tennis, and I like to swim, play field hockey, soccer, basketball and volleyball. Oh, and I like watching combat fighting and ice hockey, because Canada! 😉

4.How’s your blogging experience up until now?

Awesome! I’ve met so many wonderful people and although there’s been a teensy bit of pressure, I don’t mind! I’ve always worked best in pressure, anyways 🙂 I love the feeling of knowing that what you’re putting out there in the world might mean something to someone, just like how my favourite bloggers’ posts mean to me 😀

5.Name three of your most highly anticipating books which isn’t published yet?

  • The rest of the Throne of Glass series! I want it to be completed so that I can read it peacefully!
  • A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab
  • The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh (people have complained about the cliffhanger so I’m waiting to read this until the second one comes out)

6.Who is your favorite music artist and also name any three tracks you would recommend from the artist?

I bet people would leave negative comments if I said One Direction (not that I think my readers would, just anonymous people!) And I’m already sad that Zayn’s left. So I say The Vamps or Fall Out Boy.

  • Oh Cecilia by The Vamps (cover)
  • Young Volcanoes by Fall Out Boy, also the cover by Connor Ball
  • Wild Heart by The Vamps

7.Describe any one of your happiest moment in your life?

Related to blogging, I’d say when I got my first ARC in the mail. I was so happy and excited that I almost died right on the front steps before I had even opened the package. Tsk, tsk. 😀

8.What do you hate the most?

Mean girls. I mean, you don’t have to be bad to be considered good. Does that make sense? I like being evil, but mean is just a whole new topic.

9.What’s your favorite food?

IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO CHOOSE? But it’s summer, so I’ll let you go. I basically inhale ice cream and Doritos, so if that tells you something! And burritos! And blueberry waffles!

10.Why do you blog?

I don’t even know. I think it’s because sometimes you need a constant in your life when things are changing. Like, right now I’m getting older and I don’t really like that. But even though the days are going by fast, I know that this blog won’t go anywhere. And of course, I love books, and meeting new people! 🙂

Casey’s Questions

1. Name 3 characters that you would like to punch in the face.

Oh, I was waiting for something like this. Here goes the rant:

  • Lila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic — She needs to really stop troubling Kell. Why does she keep following him? Aarrgh, there were definitely some feels for this one. (Bad feels..) Give the stone back to him, you.. you traitor!
  • America Singer from The Selection— I didn’t really find her annoying in the first book but I hate it that she can’t choose between Maxon and Aspen when obviously the prince is the right choice! Using people much?
  • Bella Swan from Twilight — Ugh! I hated this girl from the very start! How can you be so clumsy and land yourself in the ER every single time? And what is your obsession with paranormal creatures, huh? Vampires AND werewolves?!

2. Recommend a book that you’ve recently read and loved.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. The only I’d change would be to make it longer and add more crushes and letters 😉

3. What is the most annoying plot twist that you’ve ever read?

I never think plot twists are annoying. I don’t have a particular one but sometimes (not always), books with many twists get a little annoying. I certainly didn’t like the plot twist in Red Queen because of how Cal reacted.

4. If you could jump into your last read book and “act” as the protagonist (and the story would be the same as you read it) would you?

Considering that the last book I read was “End of Days”, I don’t think so. I don’t want furious angels and hellions after me. But.. Raffe. I think I’ll go in the book for Raffe 🙂

5. What book to movie adaptation would you love to see (assuming it was done well)?

If I had my way, every slightly good book would be a movie. But I’d really like to see The Infernal Devices and Angelfall as movies, or maybe even TV shows. The longer I get to be with Will Herondale, the better 😀

6. What is your dream job?

No! I have way too many dream jobs, and I’m afraid that most of them change every few months. But I would love to be a pilot, an astronaut or an orthodontist, at the moment.

7. Who are your biggest fictional role models?

I believe the beautiful bookish answer here would be Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices trilogy. She is always reading some book, and Will Herondale can tell many great quotes by heart.

8. What book would you recommend to a person who thinks reading is “boring”?

Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I assure you those books are anything but boring. The adventures, the quirky commentary, the characters and the world are all great and one of the best ones to start out with.

9. How do you choose which book to read next?

I love making lists. I make one for just about everything, so naturally, I have one for reading as well. I make monthly lists of what I will read, and although I usually stray from the planned path, it’s how I usually choose what books to read.

10. Kiss Marry Cliff Harry Ron and Hermione. Sorry not sorry!

No, no, no! How will I ever choose? Okay, I’d kiss Ron, marry Harry (hahah) and friend Hermione. I‘m sorry, I don’t think we have any cliffs here in Vancouver.

My Questions

I am really not feeling creative at the moment, so the following questions are going to be a mixture of Analee’s, Giselle’s, Raven’s and Casey’s questions—the ones that I loved to answer the most 🙂 Even if I tried, I doubt I could outshine four awesome bloggers!

1. Name three things you could not live without.
2. If you could jump into your last read book and “act” as the protagonist (and the story would be the same as you read it) would you?
3. Do you snack while reading? If so, what do you snack on?
4. Why do you blog?
5. If you were deserted on an island, one person you would like to take with you? It could be fictional or not.
6. Name 3 characters that you would like to punch in the face.
7. What book would you recommend to a person who thinks reading is “boring”?
8. What is your favorite book cover? Why?
9. How’s your blogging experience up until now?
10. Who are your biggest fictional role models?

And the nominees are . . .

Sisterhood of The World Bloggers Award | Part I

I’m not a very good sister, so I don’t know how I got this award. Thanks to Analee @ BookSnacks, Giselle @ Hard Work Boulevard Raven @ Dreamy Addictions and Casey @ Inspired by the Page. Now I have so many sisters online 🙂 (like having one younger sibling wasn’t enough 😉 ) I’ve been a bit late in posting this—I first got nominated a few weeks ago, I think. I’m sorry! If I can do anything to make it up to you guys, I’d be glad to 😀

The Rules (I may or may not tweak these a little 🙂 )

Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.
Put the award logo on your blog.
Answer the questions the tagger has given you.
Nominate ten other bloggers
Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.

There are so many questions—40 of them! I’ll try to keep them short and to the point 🙂 This is Part One, with the first 20 questions, by Analee and Giselle.

Analee’s Questions

1. What is your favorite book cover? Why?

If you’ve read my previous book reviews, you know I love pretty covers. So this question is pretty difficult. (Ha! See what I did there?) But out of the most recent ones, I like this because it reminds of summer, crushes and ice cream. ICE CREAM.:

2. What is your least favorite book you read this year?

I tend to like all the books I read, but sometimes one thing or the other might get on my nerves. I haven’t read a lot of books this year, so this is out of 30 books.

One of the Guys by Lisa Aldin

3. What makes you love a book?

Hmm, this is a thoughtful question. I’m going to go with characters because I really love talking about them in my reviews and a lot of the time, when characters are not as expected, things can go wrong for the book. (It might result in the book being thrown across the room!)

Popular example of “annoying” character- America Singer.

4. Do you snack while reading? If so, what do you snack on?

I am notorious for snacking while reading. Snacking while doing anything. I’m surprised I haven’t blown up like a balloon, actually. Usually I have some Greek yogurt with blueberries, or some cookies and milk 🙂 (Santa doesn’t need all of them, right?)

5. What is the longest time you’ve gone without reading?

I can’t remember much from before but recently I had exams, so it was for about two weeks that I did not read a lot. Just a few pages here and there. But before I was 13, I didn’t actually read. Fun fact for you guys!

6. What is your favorite film adaptation of a book?

I watched TFIOS and I loved it. The book didn’t make me cry but seeing it all visually might have caused a tear or two to shed 😦 Best book-to-movie adaptation that I’ve seen.

7. What is the largest amount of money you have ever spent on books at one time?

I don’t buy books a lot, so I can say about $30. It was for two books plus shipping. It’s so expensive, I know!

8. Which books have you re-read many times?

Well, I’m not much of a re-reader, but I read a few chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in French. And Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

9. Which book character would you want as your significant other? Why?

Will Herondale. Will Herondale. Read The Infernal Devices and you will know exactly why.

10. Which book character do you think is most like you? What character would you most like to be?

Tessa Gray. She is the most like me. I’ll give three reasons- books, her intelligence and her stubbornness. And I’d like to be her because Will. And Jem. And SHADOWHUNTERS!

Giselle’s Questions

1. What kind of sickness have you lied about so you wouldn’t have to go to work or school?

My mom would make me go to school even if I was sick 🙂 But I’ve tried lying about  a fever, and do you guys know the trick of putting an onion under your armpit for a few hours to make your body temperature hot? Yeah, I tried that. I don’t think it worked.

2. What is your favorite opening line in a book or movie?

Opening lines, hmm. There are so many! BECAUSE PERCY, so this:

“The end of the world started when a pegasus landed on the hood of my car.”The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

3. What was the last picture you took with your phone?

The last 30 or so pictures are like selfies and pictures of me and my friends but I won’t bombard you with those. Here’s a decent one on my iPad that I took on my trip to Cancun, when we were landing.

image

4. Who would play you in a movie?

I think this question is more of who I would WANT to play me in a movie. Well, if the co-actor/co-character is Will Herondale, then I’d definitely want to up my game.

Don’t we all? And I personally think she looks a little like me. Minus the brown hair, mine’s almost black 😉

5. Last thing you bought?

Me and my dad went grocery shopping so it was a lot of things. My favourite? Vanilla yogurt.

6. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Flying. Mind-reading and invisibility have nothing next to flying. Oh, and not just floating in the air, I want wings. Real, beautiful white wings. Or they could be another colour too. Just not pink. No, sir.

7. What is your favorite indulgence?

I once had a hot brownie with vanilla ice cream. It was so sweet my teeth ached. But I’d have it again now, because that was two years ago 😀

8. Name three things you could not live without.

Internet (this includes music!), food and people.

9. If you were deserted on an island, one person you would like to take with you? It could be fictional or not.

I’d like to see how Will Herondale and I would fare on a deserted island. I bet Tessa would be jealous 😉 wink wink

10. Your favorite childhood game/s?

I wasn’t a big fan of hide and seek, because you could go hours without being found. I like all forms of tag and kickball, freeze tag and California kickball being my favourites.

Thank you for reading! Do your answers match with mine? 😀

*The Part II of this award will be posted tomorrow, along with the nominations and my questions! 🙂

The Creative Blogger Award

I really think I’m going to run out of facts. Even if I’m really very interesting ;).. I just got nominated for the Creative Blogger Award, as you can see. Thanks to Alina @ Radiant Reads and Rachael @ Reading Rachael for giving me this award. Both of them are amazing people—they are just are awesome as their blogs! (Ahem, that’s your cue to click the links above and give them some love..) [Ha! That rhymed :)]

The Rules

  • Nominate 15-20 blogs and notify all nominees via their social media/blogs
  • Thank and post the link of the blog that nominated you (very important)
  • Share 5 facts about yourself to your readers
  • Tell the nominees these rules

The Lovely Facts About.. Moi

  1.  I just recently, a few days ago, started learning German. Again. I had gotten to the point a few months ago where I could make small talk, but now I’m starting over again, and hopefully this time I’ll learn more. And maybe one day talk to a native in their own tongue 🙂

2. I can’t get enough of planes. I just recently went on one to Cancun, about 10 days ago, and when I saw one today, all I could think of was the feeling of sitting in one when it takes off, when it lands, and everything in between. This love is actually known as ‘aerosexual’. Whoa.

Image result for rainbow colours3. I like all colours—blue, black, white, purple, red, brown, golden, silver, etc. But not pink. Anything but pink. God bless pink if it ever shows up in front of me.

4. I play badminton, tennis and volleyball. I’m on the badminton team at school, but I also love lacrosse (but there’s no girls team!), ball-hockey, ice-hockey and soccer.

5. I am a Slytherin. I’ve done the Sorting Hat quizzes so many times now, and it’s always Slytherin. And I’ve always loved snakes and been obsessed with reptiles, so maybe it’s meant to be!

And the nominees are… (drumroll please)

There’s 11. Lol, I feel too lazy to come up with more, although, obviously there are so many people out there who deserve awards like this. So adapt my theory—you like it, you do it. No Blog Patrol is stopping you xD

Liebster Award

Lieb

I was nominated four times! Woohoo 😀 So, first of all, I’d like to thank Pavi @ For the Love of Fictional Worlds and Sumeet @ Musings of A Reading Mind for nominating me for this award. I was actually also nominated twice before, but thanks to my weird memory, I’ve forgotten the names of the lovely people who did so. Anyways, thanks to Pavi and Sumeet—their blogs are awesome, you should definitely check them out!

The Rules

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog!
  2. Give your readers 11 random facts about yourself.
  3. Answer the 11 questions from the blog who nominated you.
  4. Nominate 11 bloggers.
  5. Ask your nominees 11 new questions.

11 Random Facts About Me

1. I want to be a pilot when i grow up. Or a software engineer. Or work in NASA.
2. I’m a very competitive person—if I don’t win, you don’t want to be anywhere around me. I won’t tryout for a sport if I’m not the best at it, and if I lose because of someone else, I get very angry 🙂
3. On weekends, and during the holidays, only the thought of food wakes me up. A crunchy toast, warm waffles, or just cold cereal—it’s life.
4. Imitating accents is one of my favourite things to do when I’m bored, or just when I’d like to have some fun. I love the British accent, but others like Australian and Texan work great for pranking and fun, too!
5. When I was younger, I was a total tomboy. I used to watch Transformers, and play soccer and cricket. I still am one now, I guess. Optimus Prime rocks!
6. I have a disorder called wanderlust. Yes, I don’t like staying in one place for too long and am constantly restless. More than a few hundred places are on my travel list at the moment. And it’s going to grow.
7. I love making lists, and in a day, realistically, I make at least two. They differ from ‘Books To Read This Month’ to ‘Things to Do Today’.
8. I usually take up more things than I can handle—learning French, German and Spanish at the same time; learning flute, piano and guitar, etc.
9. I’m not really religious, and some might call me an agnostic, and some an athiest. But I believe that God exists, just that religion doesn’t have to—there should be no rules, like there are in religion, I think.
10. I think about things a lot. Where the Internet came from, how is so much data space possible, how do planes fly with so much weight? Okay, so most of it is about technology. But still.
11. I believe in astrology, and have since the day I learnt about it. I mean, why not? All the predictions come true, it’s a fun way to spend some extra time, and it’s harmless! Totally cool, too.

I’ll have to answer both Pavi’s and Sumeet’s questions, so this post might be a long one. Buckle your seat belts!

Questions by For the Love of Fictional Worlds

1. The book/author that you owe your reading obsession to?

I don’t really remember the book that got me started on reading, but I think it was the Harry Potter series. I think we’ve all started out with those. I really got into YA with Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck, after that.

2. Your first fictional love.

I think this award goes to William Herondale from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. Dark blue eyes, black hair, British boy. Oh, I think after him, no one else has been able to take his place. And yeah, he’s the reason my expectations of a guy are so high.

3. Your top 5 fictional role models and why?

Hmm, this might be a bit hard, considering I’ve only just started reading books.. My top five fictional role models are:

  • Tessa Gray, The Infernal Devices trilogy
  • Hermione Granger, The Harry Potter series
  • Kelsey Hayes, The Tiger’s Curse
  • Kestrel, The Winner’s Curse
  • Cassie Sullivan, The 5th Wave

4. Which book/series has influenced you the most?

The Harry Potter series. Hasn’t it influenced everyone? It motivated me to read, it told me magic was real, it made me dream higher than I had ever before. I was 12 when I read it, and I’m almost 15 now. I haven’t stopped reading since, even if there were reading slumps, writer’s blocks, and other obstacles on the way. And I never will 😀

5. Where do you find new books to read from?

I usually look for recommendations on Goodreads from my friends and the bookish community. I also love watching Booktube videos and try to stay up to date with books that are being released.

6. One person (can be anyone) whose reading recommendations you would follow blindly?

I think that one person is going to be Christine of PolandbananasBOOKS. It’s not only because she reads the same genres that I do, but also because I’ve read the books she has recommended and have loved them all. There is a pretty high chance that I’ll love the next one!

7. Who is your go to listening partner for all things fictional?

Out of my huge group of friends, sadly there are only a few who love to read, and even they don’t read as often. So mostly I get my fictional matter support from the book blogging community here! All my followers and friends online are great, awesome people and I love every chance I can get to share my bookish feelings with them 🙂

8. One fictional world you would give up everything to live in.

The Greek world from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series! I would love to be the daughter of Poseidon—his kids have the coolest (haha, get the pun) powers. But that would mean being Percy’s sister, which I do not want. If there is way around that, I’d be more than happy to transport myself to Camp Half-Blood.

9. The one book that has brought you out of a bad time.

There wasn’t ever that bad of a time to bring me out of, for a book, but The Hobbit was a book that accelerated my reading interest and geared my out of a time of reading slumps. Those are bad times…

10. Book/Series that you wish would turn into a TV Serial so as not to compromise on any detail.

I really wanted The Mortal Instruments to be a TV show, and now it’s going to be one! Hooray! I really hope they get stuff right, and not like the movie. Alex Pettyfer, I hereby declare you able to play the role of Jace Herondale.

11. One book that is your go to recommendation for any reader.

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. The trilogy might be a little hard to get into because of the new world and the historical setting and writing, but it’s one of the best once you can adjust to it. The characters are awesome, the plot is brilliant and it never lets you go. Everybody should read it.

Questions by Musings of A Reading Mind

1. What’s your favorite book of all times? It could be a series, or a stand-alone.

See anywhere on this post, or blog: The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. I think I’ve crossed the limit of mentioning a book in a single post!

2. What’s your favorite book-to-movie adaptation, and why?

The Fault in Our Stars. It really grasped the theme and was the most similar adaptation I’ve seen, with fewer scenes cut/changed. It’s also the only movie that has made me shed a couple tears—I’m not a crying person, and crying during a book/movie is out of the picture!

3. What do you prefer – ebooks or physical books? And if they are physical books, do you prefer paperbacks or hardcovers?

I’ve always been a physical books fan—hardcover. I read ebooks, too, but I find often that it’s hard for me to finish a book when it’s on my iPad. I read better and faster with hardcovers, and no matter what happens, I think I’ll like them best. They look nice on bookshelves too.

4. What is your dream destination for a vacation?

I just went to Cancun, Mexico—this is why I was MIA for the past ten days or so—so I won’t want to go on a beach vacation anytime soon! I haven’t ever been to Paris, though, and it would be a dream come true if I could have the chance to visit the beautiful city.

5. If you won a million dollars, what would be the first thing that you would buy with that money?

I couldn’t use up all that money. At least, I don’t think so! The cheesy thing here would be to say giving it to a charity, or to my parents. But, truthfully, I would first buy my most favourite things, like books, music, and travel the world. And then, I’d give the rest to a children’s foundation, because my parents wouldn’t accept money from me (I’d offer them a few teddy bears instead, lol).

6. What three things, beside books, make you happy?

I like a lot of things. I’ll just name the three that come into my mind at the moment—travelling, hanging out with friends, and listening to music, and playing sports. Okay, I had to add that last one. I love sports and try to get into as many as I can—I play badminton, tennis, basketball and volleyball.

7. What movie are you most looking forward to watching this summer?

This is a dreaded question. I’m really behind on watching movies because of school and reading, so I have many options for this one. I think maybe Divergent, or Paper Towns (after I read the book). Non-book related, I’ll watch the Anacondas movies, all the Final Destination ones, and some horror movies.

8. If you could learn a new language, which one would it be?

I love learning new languages! I already know English and Hindi, and I’m currently learning French. I tried learning German a little while ago, but I couldn’t concentrate on it. I think I’ll probably continue with it. Or maybe I’ll try Spanish, or Irish.

9. Which fictional world would you most want to live in?

I’ve already answered this:

The Greek world from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series! I would love to be the daughter of Poseidon—his kids have the coolest (haha, get the pun) powers. But that would mean being Percy’s sister, which I do not want. If there is way around that, I’d be more than happy to transport myself to Camp Half-Blood.

10. Who is your fictional boyfriend/girlfriend/best-friend?

You see, I have way too many of these. But I’ll try my best to pick favourites. My true fictional love is Will Herondale (as you can tell by the million times I have mentioned this). I’m a girl (and straight!) so I don’t have a fictional girlfriend, but if I had to choose, it’d be Kelsey from The Tiger’s Curse, because she’s brave and independent, which I want to be. And for my best friend, Tessa Gray. It wouldn’t be fair for her because I already took her love (Will) but I hope she’ll understand 😉

11. What book cover is you favorite? Share a picture!

I don’t like this question—I have way too many favourite covers! If you read my reviews, you’ll know that I usually begin them by complimenting on the cover. It’s too hard to pick a favourite, but here is one of the best covers I have seen:
